Imitation Is the Sincerest Form of Flattery.

(trying to be someone is the most genuine way of praising that person)

Well,Cindy. What do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to be a baseball player, just like Ron Fox. He's my hero. Look at the number of home runs he has hit, and look at how the fans cheer when he comes out on the field.

He certainly is popular and well liked. I can understand why you would want to be like him. After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I'd give anything to meet him in person and get his autograph.

Perhaps that can be arranged. The team is playing here this Saturday. Maybe we can talk to him and get his autograph after the game. If you tell that you want to be a baseball player just like him, he will feel very complimented.

Gee, Uncle Joe. That would be great! Let's go!

I'd give anything to meet him in person and get his autograph.
